Wee Choo Keong to Serve
UPDATE 23/2/08: Now, Wee has a blog of his own. Go here.
Lawyer-politician Wee Choo Keong is looking forward to make his mark again … this time in the nation’s 12th General Election after some years on the side-line.
Wee suffered grave injustice when Tun Eusoff Chin was the Chief Justice and was almost jailed for 4 years for the alleged contempt of court in the MBf case. In 1995 Wee won the Bukit Bintang seat with a majority of 6,500 votes and was disqualified by Tun Ahmad Fairuz. His disqualification was prominently featured in the recent Lingam Video Clip Scandals.
Wee is positive he still has grass-roots support.
In his usual calm and unassuming manner this is what he has to say when pressed for a comment, “The good work one does is what one is remembered for. It is one’s heritage and nobody can take it away. I still have what it takes to serve and will do even better when given the mandate.”
By the sound of it Wee is one come-back kid with ummph. Justice should prevail. He deserves what is rightfully his – his place in parliament.
Let’s give Wee our votes.
Vote for
CHANGE
Remember, remember, the power of X

That is good news BUT I don’t like to see him go into a 3-corner fight. That will dilute the votes for DAP/PAS/PKR.
If Wee Choo Keong wants to contest, he has to discuss with DAP/PAS/PKR and agree on a seat that he can face BN one-on-one.
AVOID a 3-corner fight AT ALL COST.

And please put the nation’s interest above self. Otherwise Wee Choo Keong is no different from any BN goon. Swallow some egos if you have to.
There are still a few more days to go before nomination. Work things out with DAP/PAS/PKR and avoid a 3-corner fight at all costs.

A Concerned Malaysian
Bukit Bintang is a very hot seat. But for the sake of denying 2/3rds of the majority, the DAP might want to agree of having him to compete just to ensure no BN ruling the streets there. Wee had a better experience of running as an MP for Bukit Bintang back in 1990-1995. People still love him there, and better had he been given a chance to recontest instead of giving the seat to Dr. Ayam.
I never really like Dr. Ayam as he was one of the first running dogs to run to UMNO’s lap after the BERSIH rally. That’s is my immediate concern if I am asked to pick a vote and I’m voting for Bukit Bintang.
Perhaps we bloggers should invite him out for a dinner as at after Bersih to cheer him up and support him for the coming elections.
If Wee can get the DAP to work with him, he will win; if not, the DAP will win.
We must not be emotional about things during elections. The DAP must not think that Bukit Bintang belongs to them. The DAP must be magnanimous and admit that Fong Kui Lun is a non-starter in Parliament. He is just a used car dealer that depended on UMNO boys for APs to import cars. I have been told that he can’t string a sentence in Bahasa Malaysia. Even to read a prepared text in Parliament was a big problem.
Personally I feel that the DAP should give way to Wee Choo Keong to fight against the BN candidate. I am certain that Wee will be a much more superior candidate to Fong Kui Lun.
In view of this, Wee must stay on to fight and if the DAP is bloody minded about it then there should be a corner fight. I strongly feel that the DAP will lose the Bukit Bintang seat if the candidate is Fong Kui Lun.
Good for you Wee. We need people like you, who dare to speak up against injustice.
